Day 2 – Svadhisthana

Good Morning! I hope you are all feeling great and are interested in learning how to balance the Sacral Chakra, but first I want to address something. I had someone ask me yesterday if it is possible to balance a chakra just by drinking a smoothie. The answer to that is yes, and no. I will say that, as with everything that we do, it depends on the intention behind the action. If you are just drinking a smoothie, from say, Jamba Juice, no, you will not balance your chakra. In the philosophical beliefs of Ayurveda, it’s believed that foods, especially foods that share colors with chakras, carry vibrations that can activate and balance your chakras. So if you make a smoothie, like we did yesterday, or the one I’m going to make today, with the intention of balancing out your chakra, then yes, you can, and yes it is that simple.

Where Is The Sacral Chakra?

is

The svadisthana chakra is located above the groin, below the belly button and in the center of the body. Think uterus, prostate or bladder area.

The svadisthana or sacral chakra is associated with family, sexuality, passion and creativity. Our desires, passions and imagination are expressed through this chakra. Many of our core beliefs are held or formed here.

People with vital or balanced sacral chakras draw on their creativity and passion, and are comfortable with their physical and sexual identities. They tend to have a warm and loving approach about them to both personal and professional relationships, and healthy family and love relations. I imagine that most sweet little old ladies have the most open sacral chakras.

Imbalances in the sacral chakra tend to manifest in the physical body as eating disorders, menstrual disorders, issues effecting the sex organs of either sex and kidney problems.

The signs and symptoms of the sacral chakra imbalance are varied. Sexual, relationship or interpersonal limitations and issues are typically related to the sacral chakra as are feelings of inadequacy and lack of self worth, self criticism, victimization, loneliness and disassociation or obsession with the physical body (frigidity, compulsive eating disorders and anorexia). People with sacral chakra issues are typically over controlling of themselves, others and situations.

Let’s Focus on Orange

The sacral chakras color is orange, one of my favorites. So the foods I picked out this morning for my smoothie were oranges (duh), mangos, honey, milk and almonds. I visualize that as I consume this smoothie that all of those foods are going to my sacral chakra, aiding it in opening up and being happy. A warm orange ball of light is expanding in that area as I feel full.

Which Crystals Go With The Sacral Chakra?

While I mention that orange is the main color associated with the Sacral Chakra, that doesn’t mean that all your orange hued stones are the best to use to balance it. I have chose  Carnelian (again), Shiva Lingam, Moonstone, and Sunstone to work with today. Carnelian, in my openion, is one of the most versatile crystals you can have, as it aids in helping your body have energy, metabolize healthy food, help with digestion and inspire a warmth to your sexual desires. It also is a stone used for protection and prosperity.  Shiva Lingam is knows as the love stone. This stone opens our way towards true love which brings unity. The true love relationship is a relationship with our own being. When we possess love we experience, what a lot of people refer to as God. It is necessary to be in love and peace with oneself so that one can be able to love others without fear. The feeling of one’s own self esteem, respect and dignity opens the possibility to feeling selfless love towards others. That is the main point of the sacral chakra. I also chose Moonstone because it is known as the stone of love and eroticism, stimulating the kundalini energy and carnal desires, both of those things also associated with the 2nd Chakra. Moonstone is the ultimate fertility crystal. A Moonstone necklace worn during lovemaking at full moon harmonizes the body into the natural lunar cycle. I can write more on that later. Sunstone is an abundance stone. It encourages independence and originality, is inspirational in revealing talents, and attracts fame and unexpected prosperity. It is an excellent “good luck” crystal for competitions. It helps spark our creativity, and yep, that’s associated with our Sacral Chakra. I’m sure you can find other crystals to work with, but these are my favorite and ones I’ve personally worked with while unblocking my Sacral Chakra.

Aromatherapy In The House!

Aromatherapy is easy, and an excellent way to balance your mood or emotions while you also balance your chakra. I have a whole set of incense that are made for meditation of the chakras, so I lit one of those this morning.

And the more popular choice for aromatherapy, oil. I LOVE Neroli. It smells like Fruit Loops cereal to me, but a bit more bitter. It is the happiest scent and I wear it all the time when I need a pick me up. Any of these others are great too: Sandlewood, Orange Blossom, Rosewood, Ylang Ylang, Bergamot. I’m sure there are others, but those are the only ones that I can think of.
